Well, this is probably the most distinctly fabulous piece that Tom Bice has ever created, or at least one of them!

Sara's Father ordered this desk for Sara's 6th birthday. He worked with Tom through e mails from New Jersey to us in Colorado, designing just what he wanted on her desk -- the log legs, the bookcase side, the right kind of drawers, the size, etc. Then he and Tom worked on the carvings on the back of the desk, which had to be "cowgirl". So here it is, in all of it's awesome beauty and very western influence. Sara loves cowgirls, so she also got a cowgirl arm chair, covered in turquoise leather to go with this desk, complete with fringe on the arms.

Sara's bedroom was totally redecorated around this desk and chair, with a custom loomed carpet, wallpaper and other decorations.

This desk should last through Sara's family for generations.

Now for other details about this desk: The desk is 60" long by 31" high

At the top of the desk is a light - the lampshade is constructed of 1/2 round wooden dowels in a log like effect. Then, there are the compartments to hold letters, etc. Then, there are the routed out carvings on the back of the desk, featuring the cowgirl in a chip carved heart, which Tom framed with brick red paint. The galloping horses on each end have cowgirls on their backs, with their pony tails flying. There are also cacti, and clouds - Just a very fun scene to look at while sitting at this desk, daydreaming about being a cowgirl, and galloping her horse across the wild prairie, instead of doing her homework!!!
