This was a tough job for Tom. He had never made bunk beds before, even though he had made lots of log beds in various sizes. So he had "fun" figuring out the design that the customer asked for, and customizing the beds, with this result. I think they are wonderful - and so very sturdy. These beds will never fall apart!

Each log is hand selected, debarked by a hand held drawknife, and shaped for it's own customfitted hole. When all of the bed is put together, then it is taken apart, and glued up. After the glue is dry, it is hand sanded, hand applied stain is put on it, and then lacquer, which is hand rubbed for the final very smooth effect. Lotta work!

Then, each rail is custom made out of angle iron, welded at the ends so that the rail bolts on directly to the log. Then the rails are covered with wood for the completed bunk bed log look.

The bunk beds then can have wood put across to hold the mattresses, or use wooden slats.

Each bed is a TWIN, so these beds can also be used separately, in the same bedroom, or different rooms, or if only one is needed, store the other bed away.

However, who would want to miss the arguments from the kids/guests who want to be in the top bunk????

The buyer gets to pay the shipping and crating. Craters and Freighters will handle this. These beds are going to Houston, Texas area, and will be about $475 to ship there. The set weighs about 200 lbs.
